My Other Interests

Erin

Okay, there is always on other pages, awards, “pets” and other “Site-fillers” that people put up on the Internet to try to make it more interesting.  Here’s my page doing the same thing.

This Geisha was adopted by me for my site at Ancient Sites, but since it closed, I didn’t have any place else to put them.  This image is courtesy of The Geisha Adoption Agency (since closed and gone).

New Petal, a geisha.

I’m New Petal

I got this image and many more because I am completely in love with Japanese culture and society. (Call this my inner little girl coming out.) The Geisha were part of that society and I believe that they are some of the most beautiful creatures on the planet, bar none.  I have several pictures of the Geisha on my computer, and I would have liked the opportunity to have been a Geisha in another lifetime.

Everything about Japan is interesting to me, and I have studied their culture to some extent, not enough to be able to function in their society, but enough to know some generalities.  Like the fact that the Geisha were not whores.  They USED to sleep with their clients several centuries ago, but it was at their desire only.  It was not a requirement that they do so.  And that Geisha means “Art Person” in Japanese.  The Geisha are highly trained in pleasing people, not with their bodies, per se, but with their skills and their ability to keep track of current events, their singing, dancing, imitation and so forth.  These days the Geisha are not for sale sexually, contrary to many people’s belief.

This is only one of my interests, other than Druidism and Wicca.  I’m into AD&D, Role Playing games in general, children, cats and several other things.  I’m into computers (obviously) and the Internet.  Just a few more useless facts about me....

I made this next quiz, and I really did take it and got this result.

Which HP Kid Are You?

Sorry, I gotta explain this next one.

There is a nice comic out there that I read when I think about it. Usually when I’m in a real acerbic mood, called Something Positive. It’s witty and really acerbic, cursing and digs into human nature.

Well, the main character in this strip is a gentleman called “Davan”, who works for an Insurance Company, refusing claims. He’s a geek, plays RPGs, has a cat with no bones who likes to take trips down the drain, and is pretty much pariah with everyone except his best friends.

This is pretty much the story of my life up till I got married, so I identify with this person a lot.

This is, however, the result of a test that I found on the Internet to show you which character out of this strip you are. I took it and these are my results….

I had other interests on here, some fashion, and other things, but Crosswinds decided to kill my site on there, so I had to remove them from this server.  However, I will do my best to keep this up to date.

One thing I’m concerned about, but not really interested in is the Mormon Church.  I recently started the process to remove my name from the rolls of the cult.  And Mormonism is a cult.  I have come to this conclusion after a LOT of research and quite a number of years of searching, and I can’t deny it anymore.  So, even though I’m inactive, I asked for my name to be taken off their membership rolls.  We will see if they do so in a fast manner.  So far, they have delayed over 3 months since my initial request.

If you want to look at some sites dealing with the truth about Mormonism, check these out:
