HomePosts, Updates Articles

Okay, I’ve had this come up a couple times, so I’m going to clarify here:

I DO WANT YOU TO PASS AROUND LINKS TO ARTICLES I HAVE WRITTEN. It is not an infringment of copyright. You can even cut and paste a paragraph or two as an excerpt in the email or post you make to tease people to read. Just make sure you link it back to my page here. EVERY article has the URI at the bottom. You can also right click on the page, go to “properties” and copy the URI from there. You can also right-click on the link itself from my table of contents, the index pages, my “new articles” box on the front page, or the Site Map and go to “Copy Link Location” and paste that.

Copying and pasting the address in the address bar will NOT get you to the correct page, most times it will get you a copy of the front page, simply because this site is frames based, which cuts down on my work. Clicking a link in this site will bring it up in THIS window, but it will not change the address above since that is the URI for the frame itself.

I DO WANT YOU TO LINK TO MY SITE FROM YOURS OR FROM YOUR GROUP. That’s how I get traffic, links. I want links. I need links. I want you to link to Daven’s Journal in your site, in your emails, in your groups. I won’t get mad about that.

Heck, I even give you a whole page of graphics to use to link back to me. And if it’s a place where I can see it, I’ll still throw in the email address.

You can even print out a copy of my articles to add to YOUR family Book of Shadows. Not your COVEN BoS, not your GROUP’S BoS, but the BoS you have and maintain for your personal use.

That’s what all the fancy language in my Copyright Statement means.

So, yes, tell people. Yes, link to my essays. I need people to read these. I want people to read these. If someone gets something out of these essays, and they tell me about it, that makes my freaking day. I love hearing stories like that. I have a frail and fragile author’s ego, I need to have my existance validated and my work praised. LOL

And if you want to be informed when I get a new article up, I ALWAYS announce it here and in my LiveJournal. Subscribe to the RSS feed (on the right) and you will know when I update it. If you can’t for one reason or another, let me know (via the email form on the left) and if there are enough people who need to be informed, I can set up a mailing list. All it will do is inform you when I add an article, you can’t discuss anything on it. I tried that, no one spoke to each other. Or if you have a LiveJournal ID, I have the feed going to that as well. Daven’s Feed is where you will find it.

So, yeah, tell people. Please.
